Brecon Beacons National Park covers an area of 520 square miles of outstanding beauty, boasting 4 rugged mountain ranges, spectacular waterfalls, flower filled meadows, lush forests, and limestone caves.
Best known for walking and mountain biking trails, Brecon Beacons offers trails to suit all levels of experience.
Canoeing, caving, sailing, horse-riding and fishing are some of the other great outdoor experiences to be enjoyed in this magnificent area while being able to witness some rare birdlife.
Within the park, 300 miles has been designated as a European Geo Park because of it’s magnificent landscapes and cultural and historical value.
Guided walks and museum exhibitions are offered in this area named Fforest Fawr (Great Forest).
Because of the lack of light pollution in the area, the park has been named a Dark Sky Reserve making this a popular destination for star gazers.
Brecons Beacons National Park is also home to over 250 ancient monuments including castles, ancient churches, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
